Social Chain (2013) was an experiment into the IoT, specifically how a constellation of interconnected devices (and their users) could work together to develop meaningful experiences. Social Chain aimed to encourage individuals to move away from their devices and interact face to face.
This was achieved by polling the Twitter Streaming API for Geo-enabled tweets within 5 miles. The user will then be directed to that tweet’s location through the LED matrix. The matrix would also indicate the sentiment of the tweet using IBM bluemix sentiment analysis (powered by IBM’s Watson).
